Franks' theorem, after A. Katok and F. Rodriguez-Hertz (ICTP, 2012)



This is part of a course that I ministered with F. Rodriguez-Hertz in Trieste ("Partially Hyperbolic dynamics and Rigidity"). The notes are on a lecture by Federico where he explained an alternative proof of the well known theorem of Franks: any Anosov diffeomorphism in dimension two is conjugate to its linear part.
